Councilman Douglas Capps

Doug was sworn into office in November 2022 and will serve through November 2026.


Family and Background

After graduating Crestview High School in 1986, Doug Capps served in the U.S. Air Force before returning home and having his property annexed into the city “to become more involved and serve my city as I did my country.”

      Holding a degree in technical business management, Doug is a business analyst by profession, specializing in supply chain, logistics and consumer services.

      Doug’s family includes daughters Raley Capps and Ashlynn Griswold, son Cole, wife Toni Capps, his mother, Linda Brown and his uncle, former Crestview Fire Department Assistant Chief Ralph Everage Jr.

      His memberships include the DAV (lifetime member), National Notary Association, the NRA and the Seminole Boosters. Doug is an avid Seminoles fan! He enjoys attending live sports and music events, golfing, and cooking out.


Municipal Activities

Councilman Capps is no stranger to the halls of city government, having served on the Planning and Development Board, of which he was most recently chairman; the citizen’s commission that interviewed new police chief candidates in 2019; and the Board of Adjustments.
