GOLDEN ASIAN BUFFETT/YUMI BUFFETT recently was closed due to health violations; fourth closure in a few years that this has happened. According to the health code records 597 health code violations have happened with most being repeated over.
The restaurant, at 2680 S. Ferdon Blvd., temporarily closed Feb. 1 following a citation for 20 violations, including six high-priority concerns, according to the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation's inspection report. 75 rat/mice droppings in the kitchen. Inspection of storage of food. Get the word out to close is restaurant permanently. This is a health hazard to our community and for the travelers that come from the interstate that have no idea how bad this restaurant is.I feel bad for them not knowing. The more the community speaks up the quicker they will close it for good. Pass this along. Make this go viral. We need a change, they have had numerous times to get it right and they don't comply with the health laws.

I am new to the Crestview Community and would like to know how we can create a community fridge or pantry where those who aren't sure where their next meal will come from can help themselves to food that has been donated by local restaurants or citizens. Watertown in MA does a great job of this: https://www.watertowncommunityfridge.org/ If we have something like this already established, please let me know where it is located. It's a great way to feed those less fortunate and help restaurants reduce their food waste! If we don't have something like this already, what would be the process to create it?

It's just non existent. I would love to see initiatives to make incentives to get more people developing downtown area. Live music, pool tables, darts, craft beer, night/comedy/music clubs, museums, galleries, community centers, internet cafes, niche restaurants, and more shopping spots would make downtown a way more attractive place to be. We have more people in our city than any other city in the county, and everyone here is spending their money in FWB, Destin, or Pensacola. Let's bring that money back to Crestview and build our city up. We get so many tourists visiting our city each year that go down to the beach too. Why not make it attractive to stay in Crestview, and make us the destination because of all the things to do?

The daily traffic and accidents on 85 have to be looked at for address. Having lived overseas for many years I have come to appreciate the value of traffic circles for single point destination routes such as 85. Part of the idea is to continue constant traffic movement and to promote zipper effect merging. The constant movement will discourage motorists to stay off their mobile devices. Doing so will mitigate the risk and tragedy of motorist accidents. These accidents occur almost daily. At the intersection on PJ Adams would be a great spot to transform the intersection into a large traffic circle.
Another logical reason to introduce traffic circles in alternate places on 85 is for the purpose of redirection. Many motorists are subject to making potentially dangerous U turns in order to reach their destinations. The use of traffic circle alleviates the danger of U turns and gives motorists a natural recourse to a safe turn around.

Crestview library, Publix, Lowes/Walmart, Pj Adams, and Antioch would be very useful stops that I could think of off the top of my head.

Antioch rd flooding at the slightest hint of rain is a known fact of life. We could help to manage this using native plants both along the road where the flooding is worst and on our own properties. Ernstseed.com for example has multiple seed mixes designed for storm water management or erosion, but they deliver in quantities beyond what one property would need, we could come together as a community to share these mixes between us to help prevent water runoff, and partner with the city to assist in seeding natives in public areas as well.

It would be nice to have a park or just a small shaded outdoor play area in North Crestview within walking distance of the library. I grew up with a park next to a library and it's very convenient for parents with little kids who enjoy the library or library classes but aren't old enough to spend more than a few minutes sitting still.
