Like most communities in Florida, overdose deaths have skyrocketed and are claiming more lives than ever. This opioid crisis, driven by mental health issues, and new more dangerous substances like fentanyl, are becoming increasingly more deadly for those looking for a source of self-comfort. Accidental overdose deaths have doubled from 2019 to 2022, now killing more of our vulnerable citizens than any other cause." And whether we know it or acknowledge it, our workforce and families have been touched by this epidemic.
