Elizabeth (Betsy) Miller Roy was Elected to the office of City Clerk on April 3, 2013 - March 1, 2017 and re-elected in March of 2017.
Education & Experience
Mrs. Roy is originally from Chattanooga, Tennessee. She is a 1973 graduate of Chattanooga Valley High School in Flintstone, Georgia and earned a degree in Management from Chattanooga State College in 1977. She was a Department Store Buyer in Knoxville and Chattanooga, TN from 1977-1986. Ms. Roy joined the Cracker Barrel Old Country Store as a Retail Manager in 1986 and was the District Manager from 1990-1995. Prior to her appointment as City Clerk, Ms. Roy held the position of Retail Manager at the Cracker Barrel Old Country Store in Crestview since 1995.
Mrs. Roy has been a member of the Crestview Kiwanis Club since 1996, and has served as President, Secretary and Treasurer. She has been a member of the Crestview Area Chamber of Commerce since 1995; serving as an officer for three years; on the Board for three years, and continuing until 2013. In addition, she served as Chairman of the Ambassador Committee. Her community service record reflects her dedication as Chairman of the Military Affairs Committee from 2007-2009; the Honorary Commander of the 96th Communication Group, and Honorary Commander of the 919th Medical Group. Ms. Roy supported Spouses of Deployed Troops Night Out, the local BRAC Committee; and hosted the Gallant Unit Citation Award Dinner for Duke Field. Ms. Roy and her husband were honored with the Lifetime James E Plew Community Ambassador Award from Eglin Air Force Base. Mrs. Roy received the Dr. W J. "Doc" Burrows Citizen of the Year award from the Crestview Area Chamber of Commerce for and the Presdent's award for 2 years.
Elizabeth is married to Mike Roy. They attend First United Methodist Church in Crestview. She is the daughter of William A. Miller and Kathleen Miller (deceased) of Crestview.
